Zoey is a Mother!

Early in April, I was lying on my stomach, trying to take this photo of the snowdrops and crocus, when Zoey came zooming towards me, leaped over my shoulder, and grabbed onto the clematis, which hadn't yet had its spring pruning.

She hung there just long enough for me to focus the camera on her...

and snap a couple of shots....

before falling to the ground. Always the clown, Zoey is the cuddliest cat we've ever had, and one of the funniest with her crazy antics.

In early June Zoey the clown became Zoey the mother. She doesn't have much time to play anymore, but she still loves to cuddle.

There are 2 tiny calicos (always females) and a black and white male (someone has to take after Mom).

They are now about a month old. Yesterday Ross found me struggling to keep them still enough to take a photo, and volunteered to help. He could see I wasn't getting anywhere. Taking a picture of a butterfly compares with this! In fact, it just might be easier! (if you've ever chased a butterfly with a camera, you know how hard it is to catch them sitting still. Sandy and Tuffenuf you know what I mean! :)

They weren't very cooperative....

Sitting still was not on their agenda, but I finally managed to get a shot of at least one and a half faces.

Zoey brought this little one to the house this afternoon. We call her Tink, after a beloved look-a-like cat we had years ago named Tinkerbelle. Tink the first was a wonderful cat. I wonder if this little sweety will be able to fill her shoes...er, paws, that is. And yes, we're looking for good homes for ALL the kittens!Posted by Picasa

Ooooh! The three little kittens are so very cute. I want one. Sorry, though, husband wouldn't let me have another. Today, he called me to the front door. Seems an errant kitty showed up at our doorstep. We walked around the house hoping for a glimpse, but alas, poor kitty was shy and I only spied her peeking out at me from under a bush. She looks a little like your mama cat (black and white). I've been informed by mean old hubby that we don't need any more kitties so I shouldn't be calling this one. It's so hard to resist, though. Thanks for sharing pictures of your bundles of joy.

Lol love the pictures of Zoey clowning around...then to see her as a mama to these 3 adorable kittens is priceless! You managed to get great shots of them even if they didn't want to sit still!! lol It will be hard for you to let the kittens go but hopefully they will all find loving homes!

Kerri,
They are so sweet and Zoey seems like a good Mama!
How patient Ross is to pose them for pictures. Bill will often see something he thinks is cute and he'll say "don't you want to get a picture of this for your blog?"
Husbands are such good blogging helpers aren't they???
:-)

Love the photos! Those cats are adorable!

I click on 6,7,8 and 9 photos for an enlarged version, but on my computer they are Not Found.

Ross is a blessing to have around...always so helpful when you need him. The kittens don't look like they want to sit still.

The kittens are really cute and Zoey looks just like a tomcat we used to have. The Four Bears blogspot also just had it's second set of kittens in about a weeks time...it seems. And the neighborhood calico, which we call Callie just got slimmer on Sunday. I hope she brings her kittens around soon, so we can tame them and give them away. We already have 6 cats and we feed Callie the 7th cat.

Your kitten pictures and the pictures of Zoey are adorable. Our Jybow is full of antics too and that's why I like to use her with Cucoo poses. She's always willing to pose in some sort of way.

How adorable. Love the tan mark on the tip of Tink's tail.

OK, they are so cute! I want one! I am allergic to cats or I would come up there and get one of those beauties! My son is always begging to have a cat. He visits his god mother and she has six cats. They are all so friendly, they come up for me to pet them. I can't resist. I was over there last night and this morning I am coughing and sneezing. (sometimes it is worth it!) I think the black & white cats are the cutest.

Such sweet kittens. How do professional photographers get those calendar photos of kitties, I wonder?

wandered over from motherkitty (she is my mom), what cute baby kittens! I have a big fat calico, and I regret that she never had kittens of her own. We have baby kittens at our house too. Sooo cute

They are so cute.
How many babies does that make for this year?

Very cute Kerri. I'm not a big cat fan but from this distance they look good enough to cuddle.

Hey Kerri! I just adore the kitten photos from this post and from a few posts back. Does that make seven new additions to the brood this summer? That is quite a lot of cute mouths to feed! I wanted to tell you that we recently had three strays show up in our yard. Two of them left rather quickly, but one, a solid black cat that was looking VERY underfed, has been hanging around for two weeks now. My husband and I decided to feed it even though we knew it would keep coming back and disturbing our own cat, and of course that's exactly what happened. We were then hoping that perhaps our cat would get used to the stray, but Smokey hisses and spits and growls every time the other one comes around. So we finally called the local SPCA office in Cortland. I had been under the impression that the SPCA destroyed all the animals that came into their possession within a very short time if they couldn't find homes for them, but according to the woman I spoke to they don't do that anymore but rather keep the animals until they can adopt them out, no matter how long it takes, as long as the animal doesn't have a devastating illness. You might want to consider that as an option if you can't get them all adopted out yourself. They're very picky about who can adopt the animals too, and will only give the animals to people who will have them "fixed" and who can afford to get them all the appropriate shots and medicines they might need. My brother adopted two cats from his local SPCA on Long Island, and they actually sent staff members to his house at 3 and 6 months after adoption to make sure the animals were being well cared for! In any event, do let us know where all your babies end up; I sure do wish I could take a few off your hands! :)
