Wet Feet!

These pictures were supposed to be part of the post below, but 'Hello' had other ideas. It often uploads the pictures to my blog before I'm finished queuing them. Very annoying, to say the least.

Our driveway is pretty badly washed out.

Kittens don't like to get their paws wet!

And they don't much like wet grass.

But these things don't deter them from their play. Posted by Picasa

Hope your place is now safe from the flood and may the rain move to dry areas. The past 4 days, we've been lucky to have warmed weather, also our beginning of June wasn't that great, mostly wet days.

Dear Kerri - we've sort of been joking about the rain, mainly because you don't want it and we do, but news reports are just awful. Tonight we saw houses being washed away, highways collapsing and heard that a number of people have died.

The water does such a dreadful amount of damage. I hope that the floodwaters are diminishing in your area. Certainly you won't need to water your garden for a while. Let's hope you can still find the garden as I'm sure the grass will be growing at record pace.

Kerri,
I was thinking of you each time I read about all the rainfall in NY. Then I read this! Your last paragraphs:
"The rain stopped falling here about 9:00AM and later the sun came out and shone brightly all day"
I'll give you three guesses where your rain went! Yep! At noon CA time the skies opened up with rain, thunder and lightening as we were at the graveside service for A's Mom!
You also would be guessing correctly that about the time you started raining again, well ours stopped!
Is that too weird or what???
We rarely, if ever, get rain here in CA in June!!!
Glad you're safe....

Oh Kerri, your driveway is not so bad. And the kitty- my one monster toddler- likes water very much!

I visited upstate NY in June many, many years ago, and it looked much like your pictures, but without the flooding. It rained every day, but everything was so lush and green. I love your kittens; who could resist them. I just got a cute little kitty myself.

I have been following the news and thinking of you and husband having to deal with this rain. The pictures on TV have shown such destruction and heartache. I'm glad that you have not been affected too much. At least you can post those cute kitty pictures to make us all feel better.

Your yard and flowers are so lovely and peaceful looking. I just love it.

I was having my hair cut today by a girl who had moved to our area from Buffalo, NY, about 10 months ago. I had traveled through Buffalo many, many years ago. She said she liked our weather better than there, especially in the winter. It was so nice talking to this young lady. I thought of you as we were talking. I've also been to Cooperstown during that same trip back in the early 1960s. NY state is very lovely, especially around the fingerlakes region.

Your kittens are so cute and I bet they have been hiding out from all your rain.

I just can't believe how much rain that you have received. I'm glad that you are able to post pictures to show us what's going on, and I hope your gardens of beautiful flowers have not been damaged.
