Build an Ark?

Our creek is usually a peaceful, meandering stream but it's not at the moment. The water was still pouring through the culvert yesterday.

On the lower side of the culvert the roadside is badly washed out. The county has lots of fixing to do all over the area.

I walked down to look at the flooded river and this is as far as I could go. I usually walk around the bend and follow the river bank.

From the hill above our farm you can see how high the river is.

I took this further along our valley yesterday as I drove back from a dentist appointment.

My husband's brother very graciously vulunteered to fix our driveway yesterday.

He did a great job!

Last night we had a thunder storm and more rain, but not so heavy this time.
Alice has inspired me to look up! I find myself looking at clouds a lot these days, and sunsets, but our sunsets are not as spectacular as hers in Canberra. Not yet, anyway. We'll get some beauties as the weather gets warmer.
I'm very happy to report sunshine this morning, but the forecast says there's a chance of showers. We had clouds and a few sprinkles early this morning.

My heart goes out to all those people who have been adversely affected by the extensive flooding in several northeastern states, and I pray for those families who have lost loved ones.

It's terrible the damage heavy rains can do! I can really see how bad it is by the pictures...glad your brother in law could fix your driveway!! As usual, the kitten picture is adorable:-)

Your photos are lovely I am glad you are safe and not too much damage was done with the flooding.

Kerri,
I was just reading a blog where they are actually building an ark for the movie sequel to Bruce Almighty. It is in Waynesboro VA. The ark is huge!
Perhaps you could float it down???
Glad your BIL is nearby and could fix the driveway. Maybe you'll get some sun soon :-) Please...don't send us your rain, though!

I hope your rain stops soon, Kerri.
We have been fortunate and not gotten much at all (in fact we need a bit more). I am not complaining, though, after I've seen all the damage everyone else has had to endure.

Kerri, the photos with the water look not very good. But the Kittys do so!

Wow that must have been some rain to wash out the roadside like that, I hope the water levels return to normal quickly. We have another hot spell in the UK right now.

Kerri could you send just a little of the rain to us. Mind you, I said just a little. An inch would be enough for now.

What dramatic-looking photos. I hope that's the end of all the flooding there.

That orange tabby has some funky looking front feet. Does he have extra toes?

I know they're not your favourite shots but gosh I love those distance photos of the river valley.

I hope the rain stops very soon and that no more damage is done. Take care driving on those wet, unstable roads, won't you.

I have seen rushing flood waters flowing by with giant green leafy trees being swept along as though they were mere match sticks. It's a scarey sight

Be careful and don't let Rob drive thru flood waters...it's not worth the risk.

The kittens are so cute and I'm sure fun to watch.

Oh, I love your blog...especially all the kitty pictures. I found you by way of Susie's place.

Stay dry.
