Here are a few more pics of our summer gardens......
This is looking towards the front of our house. I wish that daylily in the foreground was still blooming. It's called "Cleo" and is mauve and yellow....so pretty. I'll have to scan in a pic of it at a later date. Lots of monada, phlox, achillea and gloriosa daisies in this garden. Shasta daisies way in the background on the right. There'll be close-ups of those in the future. They run rampant in my garden! I'm trying to be more ruthless but I do love to have someone to give them to so I don't have to throw them on the compost pile. Is anybody out there ruthless or are we all the same when it comes to throwing out plants?
This one's for Alice (click on the "A Growing Delight" link to visit Alice) who asked to see our barn (or milking shed if you live in Aussieland). It's the very large building in the background and the other shed is for machinary storage. That's my husband, Ross and oldest daughter, Kylie. Visit her at the "Curiosity as a sign of Life" link. Don't you just love echinacea (coneflowers)? So do the bees :) That deliciously vibrant pink really tickles my senses.

Oh wow! How lovely is your garden!!
I love 'farms' ~ and we are lucky enough to be able to visit my inlaws about 40 minutes south of here, so that I can get my Country fix.
I have enjoyed all your pics and posts Kerri, and can't wait to see more...BTW, I adore weatherboards, and hubby is currently weatherboarding our house.

Oh, I forgot to say how beautiful those coneflowers are. I love echinacea, but am having a difficult time getting them to spread into a nice clump like yours.
Your fence is the perfect background for a flower bed.
Girls....how nice of you to stop by! Kali our house has vinyl siding which just looks like weatherboards. It's nice not to have to paint it.
Zoe, I had fun checking out your blog. Yes, it's nice to be in the same zone. I wish I could give you some of those coneflowers. They're taking over! I'll have to move some this coming summer. I had to move some lilys that were being smothered by the coneflowers.
Alice, we have loads of room so come ahead...and bring Richard :) You can come and play in the snow or wait 'til Summer to play in the garden :) I found some more pics of the barn for you...stay tuned. Monarda is also known as bergamot. Does that sound familiar?
PS to Alice...
My jobs were feeding the cows and calves and doing the milk house chores...cleaning the pipeline and milk tank, etc. I stayed away from the back end of the cows....liked the front end much better :) The calves were adorable. It's nice having weekends off! All our cows had names....after friends and family :) It's a shame we couldn't milk cats. They're so prolific. We had lots then and still have 14....all very sweet and personable.
All these pictures bring back such good memories, Mum.
The echinacea is gorgeous.
I should add that those cats I mentioned are barn cats.....not 14 house cats :)
