Signs of Spring!

Crocus flowers are beginning to bloom!

Looking North from our front yard...there's a tinge of green in the lawn! Posted by Picasa

We had an absolutely glorious temperature of 75ºF (23ºC)yesterday, and beautiful sunshine. This morning was warm too, but then the rains came! It's now windy, rainy and back to feeling like winter. Well, at least we've had a little taste of spring. It'll be back! Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.

I'm glad you bought that camera in time for Spring. I can see that I am going to be drooling over those views of the gardens and paddocks (fields) all summer. That should sustain me on a cold frosty, but sunny, morning. How long will it take for the grass to green up properly, do you think?

Watching your plants grow in your garden will be like watching them in my own garden (can I vicariously adopt your garden?) and I'm so looking forward to it. I hope today is another lovely day.

Alice, I had quite a time trying to publish these photos with Picasa and Hello. I had pictures everywhere! But I've tidied up now :)
The lawn will green up very quickly when we start getting more warm weather...probably in a couple of weeks it'll be lovely. Then we'll have to get out the lawn mower!
It's only fair that you share my garden since I've shared yours during our winter months. Works out well, doesn't it? We have gardens all year :)
Claire, I had to delete that first photo of the crocus flowers because of the mix up, so I'm afraid your comment was deleted too. Sorry. Thanks for visiting!

My friend Quenelle her Crocus are in full bloom. I don't have any crocus yet. Most of our trees are budding out. By the look of your picture spring there is a head of our spring.

It so much fun sharing other people's spring - makes mine all the more enjoyable. Maybe its because ours is about four weeks late that I am appreciating it so much.
Great photos!

Kerri,
You have such a gift when it comes to capturing the beauty around you! It does seem unusual to me that your spring seems ahead of ours here in CA! I did look out the slider through the rain and can see my lilac starting to bud. I'll try to get a photo if the weather clears long enough.
Enjoy your weekend!

I know spring has sprung here in our neck of the woods in western Kentucky. I actually mowed the lawn on Thursday (it was getting very high). While mowing, I noticed that our redbuds were getting purple and I found bunches of grape hyacinths blooming. We also found some perennials coming up in our new garden spot. We planted some bulbs last fall (can't remember now what we planted) when we moved our garden spot and we are now happy they are coming up. It will be interesting to see what they are when they start blooming. I love perennials, don't you?

I got up this morning and noticed how sweet the air was. That's why spring is my favorite time of year -- full of beauty and renewal.

Loved your beautiful pictures.

75º! I am so jealous...nothing is budding out here yet, but I do enjoy looking at your pics and seeing what's to come.

Hi Kerri,
Spring has Sprung here too, Southern B.C. We put our clocks forward Sat nite too. We have had spring weather here for weeks now. 60's during the day and above freezing at night. Short warm winter this year. I only do container gardening. Large pots. Amazing what you can grow in them. Really miss the smell of freshly mowed grass tho. Loved seeing your spring pics. I'm an artist so color is my world. Thankyou for sharing your's.
