In The Pink!

I've so much appreciated all the lovely comments and Mother's Day wishes.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by for a visit and leave your cheery notes. Each one brightens my day.

We've had another perfect day filled with glorious sunshine......just too nice to spend inside!

Pink is one of my favorite colors so I thought I'd share a few of the pink flowers that are blooming at the moment.

The tulips are putting on a lovely show!

Bleeding Heart (Dicentra)....so delicate, and intriguingly shaped.

Arabis (Rockcress)
This mass of tiny white flowers is bright and cheery with the Johnny Jump Ups.
I know.....they're not pink, but I snuck them in anyway.
Pink and white are so pretty together :) Posted by Picasa

Fringed tulips. I love them!

The blooms are smaller this year, but last year only 2 of the bulbs produced blooms.

Diasia (Twinspur)

I've been shopping at my favorite nursery while helping out. This is one of the beauties that came home with me. Isn't it gorgeous? I'll put it in a mixed container.

I need to thin the hyacinths. These flowers are not filling out the way they should. But they're beautiful nevertheless. Posted by Picasa

I hope all you mothers out there have a truly wonderful
Mother's Day!

Please consider yourselves hugged!

Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day.
I love your fringed tulips. So glad to see your flowers are doing well. Mine seem to have suffered from a late frost we had.

Take care,
Connie

Oh...I LOVE that photograph of the Dicentra....that is one of my favourite plants. It is a pity that it blooms for such a short time! I just love the way the flowers hang so elegantly....real class!

I really feel 'in the Pink' now. What variety you have in your lovely garden right now. Pink is a beautiful colour in flowers - soft, cool and warm, smooth, luxurious, almost caressing, and there are so many variations in this one colour.

I just love the way you have so many different things all in together. It's a garden always full of surprises. The Bleeding Heart is one of my favourites, yet I've never grown it.

Glad you had a wonderful Mothers Day. I did too - I painted five doors with white High Gloss
Enamel, and then we had to sleep in the spare room because we couldn't stand the smell of the paint!!

I also love pink flowers...in fact most flowers of any color are my favorites. hehehe. The fringed pink tulips are so beautiful and I'm hoping to find some for next year.

You are right about the weather being so beautiful that it's hard to be indoors. I'm sure that everyone who loves being outdoors can understand your brief absence and as long as you come back with such beautiful pictures, you are forgiven. hehehe

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Hi Kerri,
This is blog is beautiful. I've been trying to learn names of flowers this year, but have not had the patience to look them up in a book. The bleeding hearts are a treasure.

Oh the pictures are so beautiful! If I worked at a nursery I would want everything that I saw there. I have a few things coming along but it's raining hard today so I guess I won't try to take any pictures but will soon when the sun comes back out. We've had rain for several days and it's predicted for several more but we need it. The fire danger is really high here right now. I love Bleeding Heart, mine is coming up but hasn't bloomed yet.

I enjoyed looking at the "pink" flowers!
I noticed a Proven Winner tag in one...I got a few of those the other day...they are on my front porch safe and sound from the ground hog and her little family!!
Hugs right back at ya friend!! :)

I too love the fringed tulips and have added a second variety now, in addition to 'Blue Heron'. My hyacinths no longer fill out either, but they are not close together the way yours are, so I don't know what to do about it. You can't "thin" them when they are not crowded to begin with!

As usual I love your garden and cat photos. I might be a touch early, but have a great weekend!

I have been looking around on your blog. Beautiful flowers and colours. (: The Hyacinths have the most lovely fragrance. I agree.
Wishing you a good time in the garden during spring and summer time. (:
