Today marks another year in the life of our youngest.
Kathy is our October child.
My, how the years fly by......
My, how the years fly by......
Here she is in '87 with Wally the cat and our pumpkin harvest of that Fall.
Here she is in '82 (with me) doing her Elton John impression :)
She was born while we were living in Australia. We moved back here to the farm in upstate NY when she was two and a half years old.
We spent a lot of time with my mum in her garden while we were over there. This picture of Kathy with her 'Nana Pat' always warms my heart and makes me smile. She was a great source of joy to Mum.
Jumping ahead to her 18th year. Didn't I say the years fly by? Seems like only yesterday she was carving those Jack-o-lanterns.
Now she's all grown up and making her mark on the world.
Clowning around here with Akio, her beau.
A little more serious here as bridesmaid at Kylie and Ko's wedding reception last June.
Kathleen Elizabeth, I present to you today's bloom of the Queen Elizabeth rose.
Wishing you the happiest of birthdays sweet daughter, with all our love,
Mom and Dad

Kerri, happy birthday to your perfectly lovely daughter. She and that beautiful rose must bring you such joy. How proud you must be of her.
Congrats to you, Kerri, for being a mom and having such a beautiful daughter! Oh, and happy birthday to Kathleen!
If she is anything like most kids, she will look at the rose and wonder is this all I get... and open her card - shaking it out to see if there is any folding money inside before reading the perfect greeting card verse that you stood in the card section so long to find at WalMart...
Happy Birthday Cathy! You look like a princess, so beautiful! Your mom has always had a good eye for photography and has captured precious moments that now we are able to enjoy. What a sweet post... xoxoxox
Such a sweet granddaughter you have, Kerri. and your garden you showed us earlier is just great. Hopefully I'll be able to make something like that in mine lol.

Happy bithday to Kathy from Germany!
I just commented on your "evolution of a garden" post and I must say that I really admire your '87 Jack-o-lanterns, too! I planted some of those pumpkins this year too but unfortunately, all I could harvest was 1 very little Jack-o-lantern.
Happy gardening in your fall garden, Kerri!
Best wishes, Anita
