Computer Tip

Recently, while visiting an interesting website called Wanda’s Country Home, I came across a handy computer tip.
Thought I’d share it with you….

To make the degree symbol when typing temperatures:
Type your numbers on the NUMBER PAD, e.g. 350
Then, while holding down the alt key with your left hand, type 167 on the number pad, and viola! You’ll have your degree symbol…see? 350º
Try it!

If you do visit the above site, check out "Pine Tree Crosses". It relates the story of an amazing phenomenon of special interest with Easter coming up.

For other computer tips see Zoey’s blog. She posted one recently that I appreciated learning….how to sort your favorites by alphabetical order. It’s so much easier to find my blog pals on the list now!

And just to brighten up your Sunday (or Monday, depending on where you are in the world), here’s a pretty pink bouquet of carnations from our church.

Still the Schoolteacher, aren't you, dear? Thanks so much for that hint (it's to be 27ºC here today). I remember now that I did know that shortcut years ago but then I forgot it.

Loved the photo of the carnations (one of my favourite flowers for their delicious perfume).

I have wondered how to do the º
(degree) I love to post recipes but never could figure out how to use the symbol. Thanks for the tip.
The flowers from your church were beautiful. Great post

I forgot to say how sweet you look in your cosy pink gown and little bunny slippers sitting at your computer .....

Hi, Kerri. Good tip about the degrees symbol. I didn't know that. I tried to find the post about sorting your links but couldn't find the right post. Anyway, I loved the pink carnations. They are so beautiful and I imagine they smell lovely.

Kerri,
Thanks for the link to the tips and also the great story about the pine trees. I will check my pine tree first thing tomorrow!
I love the spicy smell of carnations. I've never been able to make them grow here though :(

Very cute clipart you have there. Nice to know about the degree sign.

Kerri,

that is SO useful to know how to make the degree sign. I used to open up Word, insert degree symbol, then copy and paste - what a drag! Your instructions are so much better.

Oh, and I note that the mama bear is having a "slipper day"! It's becoming a world-wide phenomenon.

Kerri, thanks for the degree tip! I used to know it, but recently forgot how and had to just type out the whole word. I do love 'puter tips.

Thanks for the tips and links!
Love the bunch of flowers, too!
And last but not least, I agree with Alice, you are very pretty and happy sitting at your computer ..... LOL!!

I tried the degrees thing. It didn't work. I guess a laptop (even with a number pad) can be fickle :( Guess I'll just have to resort to typing those whole seven letters out (and yes, I did have to stop and count in my head how many letters there were in degrees!!)

I'll also check out Zoey for tips...and thanks for the pretty flowers.
