Wed in a Garden

Kylie and Ko's wedding celebration was a wonderful, happy occasion!

The day was filled with glorious sunshine, and the setting was here under this tree, amid a profusion of beautiful blooms.
These gardens are part of The Plantations at Cornell University and this is just a small corner. What wonderful gardens! If you're ever in the neighborhood, you should make a point of visiting. They're free to the public.

The patch of pink behind the tree is Japanese anemone. It's one of my absolute favorite flowers, and made the perfect backdrop for wedding vows.

Here is the family group. Unfortunately, our son and his wife couldn't be with us, but they'll be there for the bigger celebration next June.

The snapdragons in Kylie's bouquet have been giving me so much pleasure in my garden for weeks. It was such a blessing to still have them blooming beautifully, and be able to use them in a small bouquet for our sweet daughter's wedding day. I added just a little Cerise Queen yarrow.

Sisters...Kathy and Kylie, with Ko and a few of the guests.
There were 15 in attendance, including the charming young gentleman who performed the ceremony.

Afterwards, 8 of us went out for a Celebratory dinner, which was lots of fun!

Congratulations to the happy couple! We love you both very much and wish you a lifetime of happiness together, enriched with a deep abiding love, joy, and God's blessings.

What a brilliant wedding in such a lovely setting. Your daughter has your beautiful smile -- in the picture of all of you at dinner, she is your mirror image.

Congratulations to the happy couple. They look so handsome. May they have love, joy, peace, and happiness in their lives.

Her wedding bouquet is so glorious -- and from your garden yet. Thanks for sharing. (Can't wait to see the pictures of the big celebration in June.)

Like Sue, I, too, was thinking about your daughter and their special day! I even turned on the weather channel to see what weather your state was having...it's a strange thing for me to care so much about folks I never met!
God' Blessings on their marriage and may you have many beautiful bouquets to share, Kerri!!

I recognize that tree! My husband and I fell in love with it when we visited Cornell Plantations. It was blooming then. It's a catalpa and it's in the legume family. There are bean pods hanging from it in your picture. I eventually got one for myself.

I daresay you went right by my street en route to Cornell. Did you take I-88 and get off at Bainbridge?
